Hood Scoop on 67-72 C10?

Does anybody have any photos of a 67-72 C10 with a hood scoop? I see lots of cowl induction hoods but not one hood scoop. I'm not talking about a huge snorkel but rather a subtle, low profile hood scoop. I am contemplating fabbing one for my 70 Burban just to make it different.

Re: Hood Scoop on 67-72 C10?

I think you don't see them because of the big flat top ridge that runs down the middle if the hood. Not saying it couldn't look good, but it will affect the appearance of the opening. It seems most vehicles with hood scoops are flat across the center...I could be wrong.

Re: Hood Scoop on 67-72 C10?

What about a Pontiac Super Duty scoop?

These were originally off a Ford Medium Duty truck but the Pontiac racers missappropriated them for use on Tempests and Catalinas.

It would be (somewhat) period correct -

Re: Hood Scoop on 67-72 C10?

I used to have one on from a late 80's S10 Blazer. I think it was stock on some certain model. Looked pretty good and sort of matched the shape of the overalll hood. (pic #1)

I changed over to 69 Chevelle SS scoops that I welded into the hood. (pic#2 & #3)

I like pic #2 & #3 Bob!

Good looking color to.
I've always wondered what the old Camaro scoops would look like on a hood of these trucks.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Those would've looked cool. Look like W-30 scoops. I never thought of that one. May have been less work than cutting my cowl in. I always liked the formula firebird scoops too from '70-'71.
