Original 1977 Grill #14005742 On E-Bay

I see where an original grill with the GM box is for sale on E-Bay now.
Starting Bid is $475!! Of course this grill has been long discountiued from
GM. I noticed that all the reproduction grills have no provision for the
"Bowtie" like the original making them useless for an original restoration.
Comments?? Larry

For my money, i'd rather retrofit a 73/74 repop grille to my '78.

I got these from the previous owner and this grill is a 454 badged one. The steering wheel I've already cleaned up and is ready for install back on my rig. He'd removed it for some reason for an 80's model wheel.

I don't think anyone makes good repro grilles because they would have to get permissions from GM to do so and would have to do all the licensing to make exact repros. And we all know lmc is to cheap to do that. Otherwise they would all be $450 ropop grilles made like crap.

Note that the NOS 1980 GMC grille with trim sold for 1700.00 2 weeks ago.

Welcome to the collector car world.

Millions of our trucks were built but no more NOS parts are being made.

Makes me want to hoard n.o.s. stuff from my local craigslist and sell it in 20 years.

You know I've wondered about that too. I see so much stuff for cheap. Selling on e-bay though can be a pain in the ass however.
