2004r / 2004r on a 250
I am going to swap in a 200-4r into my chevy with the 6cyl 250 single barrel carb. I was hoping somone that has done this can provide me with some pictures. Specificly the linkage, TV cable and lockup electronics. Any one info would be helpfull. I have done a search, but the information is all over the place.

Re: 2004r / 2004r on a 250
I don't have any pics of the trans/shifter stuff, but I have a 200 in my 71 I am buidling. As for the lock up wiring and TV cable pieces, I bought both from Bowtie Overdrives. I did buy a Lokar shifter linkage set up because the factory linkage wouldn't work.
We out a 700R in a buddy's 67 Chevelle with the Bowtie Overdrive TV linkage and lock up wiring. It seems to work well so far.

Re: 2004r / 2004r on a 250
Well I welded but and fabricated my very own TV cable bracket. i hope the geometry is correct, the only thing left to do it put a pulley wheel in the little shaft to account for the direction change, and the put the bracket on the linkage to get the correct travel distance. It mounts under the Carb. Unfortunately the 6's do not have very many locations for mounting a bracket. So with the help of my plasma cutter and mini machine shop, (consist of a bench grinder, mig welder, drill press, plasma cutter, and varies other tools) i was able to create this little gem. tell me what you all think.

Well I won't be selling the rights to Rochester or be getting a patent. But it seems to work at getting the TV cable attached to the carb. At least till I getj the 5.7L ready.

Re: 2004r / 2004r on a 250
How did this work out? What did you think of the performance after the swap? I have a '71 with a 250 and a granny 4-speed and I would like to swap in a 200-4r. I hear they are the same length as the 4-speed so I wouldn't have to cut the drive shaft. Anyway, curious about what you think of yours and how it performed.
