Replacement front bed panel-is this normal?
I just received this front bed panel in the mail. I can bend it back and forth, equally. There's not really a middle ground where it'll stay straight.
Is this something that'll straighten out when it's mounted?

That's counterpart sheetmetal for ya,when i was checking sheetmetal for my bed , this was the worst stuff

Normal for a repop? Probably. Factory piece? No. I've had my stepside bed apart and it did not do that. It should be fine once bolted up.

I've read about MAR-K being good for the bed stuff. It was more money, but I'm beginning to see why that might be...

Might want to give them a call, they make a lot of (if not all?) of the stuff they sell in the US. When I get to the point of adding the 67 CST side trim for my truck I will be buying from them, it's made in the US and has gotten many good comments from members here.

I say forget the hassle of buying an aftermarket one that may be bent if you have the tools do what I did fab up your own only cost me $110 bucks

You bolt that thing up and trust me it will stiffen up. A lot of new sheet metal from the General now a days will do that on the newer type stuff then when you put the bolts to it it get serious. jim

Go Mar-K! I just built a complete short fleetside from aftermarket parts. Bought everything I could from Mar-K, and the rest (of course) was stamped in Taiwan. Mar-K is the only stuff of any real quality. I give them a strong 10!

Mar-K is great. I have ordered a bunch from them. I have the same bed front that you have there from counterpart and it went in fine and stiffened right up. Not a super piece but fully functional and will get the job done. Good luck and
