Anybody ever cut a hole in their frame with a hole saw. I need to cut some holes through a cross member for exhaust and thought I would try a hole saw first. I only need to cut two holes and was wondering if one one of those bi-metal ones from Lowes or Home Depot would work. Wasnt sure how hard the frame is.

A bi-metal blade should cut right through it.

slow speed and dont force it you will burn the bit, If you can, find some cutting (lube) spray for it, it helps to lube and cool the blade.

Thanks guys, I will go ahead and get one and try that. Using a torch anywhere near those gas lines makes me nervous.

Also grab a hold of the drill REAL TIGHT. The bigger the hole saw the more it will want to break your wrists.
