You can run a 12" wide wheel on the truck without modifying the frame or moving suspension, but would require widening the wheel tubs. Anything past 12" , would require moving the suspension inboard, along with the widening of the wheel tubs.

On a stock wheel tub, stock frame / suspension location, a 10" wheel would be the widest.

Edit: I realized I forgot to answer your questions on tire size. On a 12" wheel, I typically recommend a 335 tire. When running a 18x12 though, most 335 tires are going be 26-27" tall.
