Hey folks, just got my new...ummmm 67???

I just got this farm fresh truck home yesterday and was up late looking over all the info between my truck and your site and I am finding a gap maybe someone can explain. My vin and glove box numbers match the title but when I look the model number up ,where the 4 digit is I guess the 07 it goes straight to the fleet side number of 34 and skips the year. Any reason for that. I am posting picks if it will let me for reference.

Special v 8 is not original to the truck to my knowledge. Someone will chime in on the rest..

Re: Hey folks, just got my new...ummmm 67???

C = 2wd
E = V8
1 = 1/2 ton
4 = Pickup cab with bed
7 = model year (67)
A = assembly plant - Atlanta
The rest is the serial number, yours was the 23,128th truck to be built at that plant

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/Chevyear.html

The emblems look like that crap you can buy at Advance from their "stick on speed" section.

EDIT: I see what you mean now, you're talking about the model number. Yes, it seems the factory sticker typer upper forgot to add the extra 7 for the model year.

Re: Hey folks, just got my new...ummmm 67???

More info... never paid attention to this before, but GMC pauls decoder may be wrong:

http://www.gmcpauls.com/67-72_chevy.htm

looking at lots of other glovebox doors, including mine, the model year and assembly plant are not included in the model number.

Mine is shortbed stepside, I had mine remade by board member chipflyer:

Re: Hey folks, just got my new...ummmm 67???

Had a mid century Buick that had a special edition v8 emblem similar to that. Pretty sure that's where your badges came from.

The model number never has the model year in it, the one above is correct. GMCpauls is not correct.

Use the decoders in this link, they are correct. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/showthread.php?t=570059
