Spare tire mount cap.GM?

I was going through some of my parts and came across this.It was off of my
'69 stepside fender style spare tire mount.
It covers the wheel center for a six lug pattern,I don't see any part numbers and it is made of cast iron.

Has anyone else had one of these on a stepside or are they even original to 67-72 GM trucks.
Thanks.

I've never seen one of those. I would say it was aftermarket, but cant see there being too many folks who would feel like they needed it. Pretty neat that it's cast iron though.

That spare tire lock would be for GM products with 6 lugs from about 1935 on up to the late '40's - early '50's. There were a few different configurations of it during the years. Here is a picture of the one I have with the special lug nut and the actual lock that fits it.

You mention that would be for GM products does that mean it was an aftermarket accessory or dealer item?
That lock looks familar, maybe I better keep looking in the parts bins!

I can't say for sure if it was a factory/dealer option or aftermarket but I suspect it was a factory/dealer option. I have another one that is a little different and brand new and it has an original GM key in it with the code number stamped into the key. That would indicate to me that it is a factory/dealer item.
