under dash a/c units, anyone have pics?

I'm getting ready to install the engine side of things, compressor, condensor ,dryer etc and am wanting to add an older a/c stand alone unit under the dash. Jdosher on Maggies build used a heat/ a/c combo unit and deleted the factory heater. It looks cool, but I HAVE to retain the defrost here in the NW. Anyone add an underdash unit like the Mark IV from Vintage Air or an old Sears unit and have some pics? Wondering what models will fit in the center and still keep the OE heater defroster.

Picked this 62-65 Chevrolet Dealer accessory up and am going to mount it under the dash. Anyone have any experience with them?

NEW FISHER , your ac unit require's a blower assembly and duct to back of your unit, and was behind glove box {hope you have it} on 1963 impala and other chevy's passenger car's in that era. I had a unit like that used in 1963 impala's as a dealer install.I did not have the separate blower cage and duct so i sold it. The face is brushed finish with chrome vent ball's. I have a frigidaire under dash unit and sankyo compressor on my pickup, and it cool 's to 34 degree's.My frigidaire look's like the mark IV you have pictured.

Newfisher, here is a factory Chevrolet unit in a 1963. The truck underdash unit has a different housing than the passenger car unit. The difference is in the side ducked inlet . Trucks are straight out the side and cars aim up slightly.

These pictures show the difference in the car and truck units. These are in a 1960 Chevy truck of mine.

Thanks 60-66. Those pics answer a lot of questions and are a big help!

Thanks LT1 Burb, this project might be the smallest one you dealt with. I saw the crane you used on the last install!!
