where to buy air line and fittings
Hey guys, just about have everything pieced together for my rear air ride setup. Dominator 2600 Bags are currently in place (gonna see how they ride before I buy front bags, maybe swap out for 2500's), I just picked up 8 SMC 38" valves (used but in good shape - $50!) and the valves came with a good bit of the fittings I will need to put everything together. Also picked up a vintage air pressure gauge on ebay for $5 from a 1940 GMC Bus. All I have left to do is run the wiring, mount my tank (old fire dept SCBT) and run the air line. I am looking to go with 1/2" line since that's what most of my fittings are for, and am trying to find out where the best (read CHEAPEST) place to get decent line by the foot. I am looking for just some plain black DOT 1/2" Nylon line, about 25' of it. I have seen pricing all over the place, and have found it as cheap as .58 per linear foot, but $12 worth of line was $12 for shipping. I might also need a fitting or two to get everything finished off, but nothing I can't work around locally. Where are you guys getting your line? Is there a difference between the Airbagit line vs. other? Vendors, please feel free to chime in here too! Thanks!!

Re: where to buy air line and fittings
We don't have line that is $0.58 per ft., but we sell 1/2" DOT line, which we feel is a good line to run vs. other non DOT line. A 25 ft. roll runs $25 plus $15 to ship. Not the cheapest line you can buy, but it's quality, which is what you want for air suspension when it will be essentially what is holding up your truck.

Pro Performance will def have whatever you need. We needed something FAST so we went to a local Peterbuilt dealership and they had everything we needed.

Re: where to buy air line and fittings
OK, now another question, I have seen two different types of fittings, one that is all brass (Push to Connect, of course) and the black plastic upper with a brass lower. Suggestions?

Re: where to buy air line and fittings
I prefer the all brass construction, so there is no plastic to accidentally break. The all brass style is all we carry, because they work so well and seal up nicely without issues. When using PTC, always make sure to re-cut your line if every time you remove it from the fittings. Also, make sure it is a very straight cut.

Re: where to buy air line and fittings
Thanks for the info! I am curious though, have you ever had issues with the 90 elbow brass fittings cracking at the bend? I have read that a few places, and if I am going to do this, I would like to only do it once!

Re: where to buy air line and fittings
I have never had an issues with the elbows breaking. Using a good sealant, like Loctite 545, the fittings should not take a lot of torque to seal.
