Cowcatchers and Other Winch Bases
I read the interesting threads on some forum members who have winches that are discreetly tucked behind their front bumpers. I'd be interested in seeing pictures of any that took the opposite approach. My new Jimmy, which was a county highway department vehicle in TN, has a Braden winch affixed to a very sturdy base that is somewhat reminiscent of the old Dodge Power Wagons of the 1940s-60s. Jimmys have a no-nonsense look about them anyway and the winch assembly adds to the effect. The truck also has an I-beamish rear bumper with a ball trailer hitch. Here are a couple of pictures to kick things off.

cool, glad to see that Jimmy ended up with someone on here. I had considered it, but could not pull the trigger.

Here's mine on a '71 GMC k1500. It's an old cable-operated Warn.

Re: Cowcatchers and Other Winch Bases
Homemade here! The winch box section bolts to the bumper & is slid into receiver tube, so can take winch w box & fairlead off to use on car-hauler trailer when needed for other projects.
