I Corner Scaled my truck LOOK! 3482 Pounds

So I got out the race car scales and threw them at my truck. Here's the results.

1/2 tank gas

LF RF F%
LR RR R%

1002 1041 58.7%
731 708 41.3%

cross weights
LF-RR 49.1%
RF-LR 50.9%

TOTAL: 3482

With me in it, 1/2 tank gas

LF RF F%
LR RR R%

1067 1052 58.5%
777 724 41.5%

cross weights
LF-RR 49.5%
RF-LR 50.5%

TOTAL: 3620

Here's a comparison:
2002 Camaro SS
Curb Weight 3,553.9 lbs.
Weight Distribution(%Front-Rear) 55-45
1/4 mile: 13.9 @ 98 mph 325 hp

My truck is lighter, has 25 more hp and is just a little off in weight bias.

PROOF ------> MY TRUCK IS FUN TO DRIVE

Enjoy

So what have you removed from your truck to make it that light? Removing 100 pounds can make quite a difference when you cant add torque.

Most of the weight reduction is from my LS1, all-aluminum engine. That 200 lbs right there. Getting rid of the truck, 4-speed trans was a lot. The stock trans crossmember weighed a ton too. I also have roll pans and no bumpers.

That's about it.

I just weighed my truck with a full tank on truck scales here in Houston and was quite impressed that I came up at 3800 pounds. I figured I would be over the 4000 pound mark. That is with the regular 350 on a short step. I thought it was pretty good, all things considered!!!

Both of those numbers sound great, especially considering mine was weighing in at 5760 when it had the small block. Guess it will weigh a bit more with the BB, but that's okay.

I'm just amazed you have it lighter than your Camaro, that has to = smiles.

FYI...The 70-82 camaro/firebirds started out in 70 around 3200 lbs...when they quit making them in 82 a fully optioned one was over 4000....mostly because of the government mandated crash stuff
