Plans right now are to fix a bunch of little miscellaneous things. New window regulators, door hinges are sagging, new rubber, new grill trill and modify the hood release since it has a forward tilt hood. The release does not quite open all the way so its hard to get the hood open. Then build a new center console and put a headliner in. Right now its just sprayed orange with a bunch of stickers. It looks cool and gives it a surf wagon look, but i prefer a nice headliner. Maybe black with some orange cross stitching. Then upgrade the stereo a little. The two speakers on the dash are not quite enough. I have some stuff laying around at the house from previous builds i can throw in there.

Any of you guys had trouble with your door hinges? I was going to try to find new ones, or maybe replacement pins/bushings?

One of my favourite Burbs, I really dig the roof treatment. Does it look as cool in person as it does in pics?

I've personally never seen or heard about these trucks having sagging door hing issues, are you sure the hinges are the problem and not striker plate shim or placement issues?

YbNorml- It does look cool. It has 3 coats of clear with orange flake and then 3 coats of clear on top of that. I think over time it will need to be repainted. I was told it was painted about two years ago. It still looks good but there are very slight hints of surface rust in areas. It is not bad at all, i just think over time it will need to be sanded down and painted. Maybe since clear is not really a sealer. Either that or it did not get every single spec off of it when it was prepped. The truck has always been garaged and i keep it garaged as well, so it should last for awhile. One day i will probably shave the handles and gas filler and repaint the car. I love the look of it but personally i would not do it again due to those reasons.

Vectorit- When i open the door,i can lift up on it and get at least 1/8". Maybe even 1/4" on one of the doors at the furthest point. I almost have to lift the door up to get it to close properly.

No not a member of Sunset. Found about this forum while searching for the thread on the suburban before i bought it. I live in Southern California so i will try to hit as many local shows as i can.

The doors on the 67-72 trucks often weaken and the door itself will crack around the upper door hinge. It can be hard to see.

Yup, hinge bushings go bad, which leads to hard hits and the door cracking issue. LMC/Classic/Jim Carter/Brothers sell pin and hinge kits. 10 min with a hammer and BFH, once they're off.
