Hudson Hornet -1950 ? to 1954. Flathead 6 . In their prime they
were NASCAR winners.

Pretty sure Lee Petty raced and won with them.

They were great until the Olds and Pontiac V-8's came out and
creamed them.

You guys rock. It is totally a Hudson Hornet. After you said, I looked them up on the internet and there is no doubt. Even had pictures of gas fillers.

Thanks!

Any idea how to tell years? Anyone know where the VIN plate might be?

If I remember right Jake in "Two Jakes" drove a Hudson
convertible. Real clean cream colored droptop.

In "Chinatown" he has a small coupe.

There's a real nice Hudson here in town. Light green with
dark green top.

One was for sale in Bend ,OR about two years ago. Had been
updated a little. 472 Cad V-8 PS PB looked real nice. They were
asking $3500 for it. I was real tempted but wanted a truck.

Stoopid scanner. Ah, well. I'm challenging myself to see if I can identify the exact year.

I'm pretty sure its a 51 with those front turn signals. Looks like later years had turn signals mounted on a grille extension instead of in the fender itself.

EDIT: Geez, only 150 convertibles built in '52 and only 30 of those had the Straight 8, was final year for it.

I'm pretty sure it's not a Hudson Hornet. Hudson for sure, but it looks to me like the last year for gauges in the center was '50, and the Hornet started in '51. Probably a '50 Hudson... something.
