Re: Just signed up
Welcome, looks like you have the Art Deco style '47 COE, I have a "47 AD style COE. Check out my build thread. I need to see some pictures of your engine placement, also any infofmation on which chassis was used would be great. Pictures of steering hook up? I also have a '46 Art Deco 1/2 ton as a daily driver. Did you build it? Details, details, details please.
Thanks Rob

Re: Just signed up
Thanks for the comments..47 Fastoys, my truck is still on the factory 1.5 ton frame, The guy that built it back in 1999 took the strait axle out and put the front cradle from a 73 suburban under it. the only thing he had to modify was the center link was narrowed and sleeved. He also turned the steering sector vertical. I will get some pictures andd post them this weekend..he also used the 12 bolt from the same donor and just bolted it to the factory springs..They still have the grease fitting in the hangers..It also has never had the cab removed still has the wood blocks in place..Now with that said it is very tight fit for the small bloc kbut the floor has not been cut at all.

Re: Just signed up
Thanks for the pics, that's interesting, I didn't think you could fit the engine under the stock floor. I'm sure it still has the hump where the old valve cover was on the 6 and it looks like air cleaner fits there pretty good. I'm going with a 4.8L and a 2003 Silverado chassis on mine. How is the heat issue on the floor? It looks like you've got a little bit of work to do but it also looks like a solid project to start with. Good luck and keep us posted.

Re: Just signed up
47..the heat was terrible until I did the floor with fat mat. It is a fun driver. As far as what is left to do I am going to do the interior in brushed sheet metal, and redo some 20 year old body work and probably going to shoot it a flat orange. I have driven it to Crusin the Coast and drive it to work at least 1 day a week. It does still have the factory floor hump.
