Rearend swapping question?

I am changing my 6 lug rear to a 5 lug on a 67 with coil springs. My question is what year can I swap with. I found a posi 5lug lug from a 71 suburban with coils at least that is what the guy told me. But according to the interchange book I have it will not fit. WHY? Any help or suggestions would be great.

Thanks in advance,
Pete

the interchange will say you can't because it's about 1inch wider and it has 5 lugs not 6 , the thing will bolt right up without a problem
