Frame Rust Repair
Okay, I've spent some time searching and haven't really found anything, maybe I just looked right over it. But, I have a 69 c10 that I'm working on the frame.
I need some opinions. My dad can do welding for me and we've been working together on the frame (This is my second truck, but building it for my first car) but he is not comfortable to cut the section out and weld in new and my budget is really allowing to send it to a shop right now. So we have an improvised plan and we want to make sure it will work with advice from others. The plan is to install the c notch then fab up a brace that follows the frame and goes 2 feet towards the cab on the outside and underside of the frame rails. So basically continuing the c notch plate by welding on to it then bolting everything on to the frame. Also possibly cutting out the bottom of the frame rails where the coils mount completely.. Driver Side Passenger Side

Re: Frame Rust Repair
I think I would look for another frame. That's a lot of rust in one area. Frames are not that expensive vs welding and plate metal.
