Exhaust Manifolds
Yanked the motor out of my K20 and am having a new one built.
Started cleaning things up for the re-install and noticed that both of my exhaust manifolds are stamped RH. Looked up the numbers on them 3932461 (RH3) and 3932465 (RH39) and found nothing. Are these correct or did someone replace them incorrectly? The reason i'm asking is one is broke and I need a new one. Thanks again, Dan. |

what type of exhaust manifold do you have? is it the ramhorn that comes straight down or the ramhorn that goes to the rear? sounds funny but i guess as long as they were working thats what counts so if you got one thats broke I'd just replace it with one like it.

They're the ones that come straight down.
That was my line of thinking also, since i'll be going to headers shortly. Dan. |

I like the idea of headers, but i dont want to have to worry about exhaust leaks and rusty headers, they dont look good.

Straight dump ramhorns are interchageabe left to right unless there is some kind of alternator or other accessory mount cast onto it.

Dan are you running a 4 speed or auto tranny? Make sure you get headers that will clear the z-bar if you have the SM465 4 speed. I went with the corvette ramhorns and 2.5" exhaust (stock ramhorns are 2").

I'm running a 350/350/205 setup. When I get headers i'm looking at either Hooker Comps or Dynomax for the Chevelle. I might go for a set of shorties too, any recommendations?

Here's a suggestion. Skip the headers and buy yourself a pair of Covette 2-1/2" rams horns. Direct bolt on, same location for your pipes just need bigger pipes, and not a problematic as headers.
