A/C delete?

I have a 1970 GMC with air-conditioning that does not work and I would like to eliminate the evaporative portion with the heater box and change to a regular heater core and box. Is this possible? Thank You Raymone

Re: A/C delete?

Sure it's possible and I'd be more than happy to trade you your A/C parts and box for my heater only box ...

Re: A/C delete?

The cabs/firewalls are different on A/C and non-A/C trucks so it's not as simple as a parts swap. I would just isolate the A/C evap and dryer and save the rest of the system for a rainy day, you or whoever ends up with the truck down the road may want it to work again and having all the parts, even if they're non-functional, is a good starting point.

A non-A/C heater box won't swap either unfortunately, I'm sure some people on the forum have come up with an attractive alternative to the giant plastic box under there but I haven't seen it myself.
