The beat goes on!

So this time its a new shift lever.Auto on column. Every thing on the new one is the same except the round end which is slightly larger.Is this par,and should I dremel and keep on trucking? Do not want to get into the column now.Maybe when there isn't month left over at the end of the money! Thanks for any reply.

There are two or three different shifters and you have the wrong one for your application... Even if the seller said it's the correct one. There are a couple of different size balls on the end. You could trim it down so it fits but I would make sure it is pretty smooth and put some grease on it...
