power drum brake upgrade

Hey fellas! I'm new to the c10 world. I'm solo glad I found you guys! I'm starting my very slow refurbishing my new daily driver.

I'm just adding power brakes, new lines and shoes. I went with a 11" booster. Moved the rear brake line "T" to the drivers side. I had to make my own MC mounting braket.
I went with 1/4 " up front then reduced down to 3/16 by the rear spring.
This was a "PITA" for sure. Also added new cylinders. 65 c10

I really like the fact that you coiled the lines. us old timers know what's that for and it isn't for looking pretty. remember when you do go to disc, you'll want 3/16" lines from the proportional valve to the rubber lines up front.

Re: power drum brake upgrade

Can you give some details on your mounting bracket? Also how you made connecting rod? Mainly distance between firewall and booster dimension.
Awesome job looks great!
Thanks

Re: power drum brake upgrade

hey crossland1962, a member here named "captfab" I think sells really nice brackets on here.
I just didn't have time to wait for one to ship. however.. on sun. ill go out and measure the distance. the peddle pushrods adjustable. so, really if your making your own mounting bracket. you can just "eye ball it".

the connecting rod came with the kit. I got it on ebay. it came with a mounting bracket also. he just sent the wrong one.

hope that helped alittle. ill check that for you on sun afternoon.

Re: power drum brake upgrade

Ok. Looks like my brackets 2 3/4" between firewall to booster.
Remember I have 11" booster. The pushrod was in the kit. There's a lot of adjustability in the pushrod.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you.
