I need a Tranny hump
Does anyone know where I can get a short transmission hump for my 61's floor? I can't seem to find any online. Or maybe someone fabbed one up? I have some ideas about making one but examples would be cool too. Thanks!

Re: I need a Tranny hump
Kind of a grey area. Will leave this open for now BUT if this becomes a thread with people offering to sell one, it will be closed.
I don't think anyone repo's this part so I would be curious on how people have fabbed up their own part. Anyone have pics of self fabbed panels?

Re: I need a Tranny hump
Yeah I wasn't fishing to buy one on this thread, I imagine someone has built one before and that's what I should have stated. I wish there were more re manufactured parts available for 60-66's.

Re: I need a Tranny hump
Completely understand and it was how I was reading it. I just needed to put the warning out so others don't start offering items for sale in the thread. Hopefully someone will have some cool ideas for building one.

Re: I need a Tranny hump
Anyone know if a tall pan would work if I were to cut it down? I'm pretty handy but are the general dimensions the same cept for the height? Just a thought.

It would be pretty simple to shorten a tall hump. Just make sure you bolt it in place while shaping it till ya get her tacked up. Just keep the matt in place afterword. As far as the title goes, aerotruk, ......didn't I see a thread like that on rearends once....way back in the day...?

Re: I need a Tranny hump
I think that's what I will look into doing, cut it down and it might even look like it belongs there. I didn't mean to make a title like that, but I noticed it before I hit the post button. I sent it anyways! LOL

Re: I need a Tranny hump
Back in high school in 1966 I wanted a removable floor pan in my 1954 Chevy sedan, but the last year Chevy installed them was 1953. So I picked up a 1953 removable pan at a local junk yard, brought it home and plopped it on the floor. I marked the perimeter and sawed out the floor 1” undersize, leaving a nice lip to bolt down the pan.
You might be able to do something just the opposite if you can find a low hump cab that someone will allow you slice up. Cut out the chunk of floor, bring it home and lay it over the hole. Mark it from underneath and cut it an inch or so oversize. With a little finishing effort it might turn out to be the easiest way to obtain a removable pan that actually fits the floor.

JJZEPPLIN, did you happen to take pics of the job?

Re: I need a Tranny hump
I feel better now. I see I wasn't the only one. There was a thread a while back called "I need some trim". Just sayin'. Ok. I'm done.
