72 LWB original paint, Iowa (craigslist)
Oh, I should not have searched Craigslist today.
Getting the itch to work on the K-20. Toying with idea of temp body work (probable) vs. complete body swap (long term). Been looking for good, solid 72 bodies mainly from Texas and Cali. Today, on a whim, i searched local craigslist and found this: http://lincoln.craigslist.org/cto/4272615409.html Looks like a straight body, with no cab rot. Oh. My. God. Ten years from now this truck would be SOLD and sitting on trailer behind my Big Block riding to it's new home. Someone please, PLEASE buy this truck! I wish I could. It is not the time. Daubs

Nice looking truck. My Dad had one just like it a few years ago in Phoenix. Clean good running truck that was fun to drive.

I would pull the body, clean her up, paint, undercoat, and drop on my K-20 frame (that has new brakes, new crate 350, new clutch, etc.).
Droooooool

Is that really a $4g truck though? Hard to tell but are those rockers rusted through or just surface. Looks to be your average LWB so around a $2g truck I'd think. Deff needs better pics of the real rust areas.

I was thinking the same thing. But I haven't been paying attention to the market lately either. If you need someone to go look at it for you, I may be able to assist you.

Great points. I'm close enough to drive over and have a look. Talked with wife and she's open to the idea. Hmmmmmm.

Re: 72 LWB original paint, Iowa (craigslist)
Agreed, way above average for Iowa and Nebraska. But it is possible. My dad has 62 impala he purchased new, has 80k miles now. It has been painted once and some rust removed. It's a great driver with no rust.
I will ask for more pics and may drive over and have a looksie.
