The factory regulator was built into the fuel pump/sender assembly. You can use them, but it requires fuel tank mods that are past a lot of peoples abilities and/or desires since the corvette filterwith the regulator built in is so easy to use. Price probably adds into the equation too as fuel pump modules are not the cheapest.
