Carpet question

So , I am doing a swap .. Taking the gas tank out of my cab . But the thing is ( I never planed on doing a swap so soon ) I bought the carpet kit for my truck . But it was before the swap so I have a kit for a gas tank in the can and gas tank cover . Can I still use the same gas tank cover carpet , to cover the back wall ? Even tho there is no tank in the back ?

Re: Carpet question

The carpet contours to the shape of the tank and will not lay flat

Re: Carpet question

I used mine just fine. I hung the gas tank cover by installing a thin piece of aluminum I bought from Lowes to mimic the tank....The plastic hangars on the tank cover clips to this alum. strip I mounted. A little spray adhesive to secure the carpet to the back wall and it looks fine!

I had to cut the from sewn edges of the cover a little but it was very minor.

Simple solution...give it a try!
