Re: Survivor trucks pics?

It would be tempting to buy that truck and swap it onto a K10 or K20 chassis.

Here's my 1984 survivor... 26,503 miles with original paint, interior, drivetrain, etc. Only lowered it, replaced the trim, tires and beauty rings.

My Jimmy is an '85 and the color is called Doeskin Tan. That's what I've always known it as. Seems funny they'd be calling it Minivan Tan since GM kept color offerings separate between Vans,Minivans, and Trucks. Some colors crossed over and some only available on one body type, and often the same color used a different name. I guess they got lazy and uncreative in '87

Man,these are some nice survivors so far. I'm leaving for Illinois as soon as I put my shoes on!

Re: Survivor trucks pics?

My 87 GMC is an old government truck so I think thet threw some extra minivan paint on it to keep it cheap. It is a 3 year only color.

I didn't comment because it doesn't belong here. Don't get me wrong. It's a cute touch to the thread and all,and I think it's killer. I could have been the first to say it doesn't belong here but I just passed over it. When I think survival,it has nothing to do with a vehicle. They are too dependent to be much good in a true survival situation. That's more like a cool back country fun machine for someone with lots of money

My brother in law scored a great deal on this 89 Jimmy. Was a california truck until 2 years ago, never seen salt, and the frame and pans are immaculate!
