I guess it depends on how much room you need in the box.

In my experience, it can go from an empty VA box liner (first pic), to a full one in just under 6 seconds....

I have been watching this thread and searching also. What I am curious about is how well the heat and the defrost works on these units?

@Z10, get build, I've been following your thread. Question what did you do with the blower hold on the fire wall? Does the kit bring a block off for that as well?

looks great , the one thing I dont like is the compressor that comes with that serpentine system , puts a huge drag on the system , the sandens are much more efficient

My Vintage Air has been in for last summer and this winter,"Which has been the coldest in many years" and I have no complants with a/c or heat and defrost.

I will say in our trucks it's pretty hard to get away from the sun in the summer and which ever direction the sun is, is the part of you that will still feel some warmth.

I've been driving my truck almost every day the past few weeks. Been in the mid teens to low 20's in the morning. Once the truck starts to get warm, the defrost works just as it did when it had just heat.

The only time I have issues with fog is when it's a cool hard rain. You either have to keep the heat on and be a little warm, or blow cool air on the windshield.

Sounds like VA is the way to go. Was just asking because I read somewhere that some systems the defrost don't work worth a flip.
In my part of Texas we have to worry more about foggy windshields rather than ice.

The kit comes with a round steel block off plate that is painted black. We've done two modifications. we've drilled about a 1" hole in the middle so that we can run power from the battery to the unit and I painted it body color to not draw attention to it. If you need more pics I'll try and post them.

I'm not sure if that's accurate, but I like the looks of the OEM compressor and with about 375 hp and about 425 ftlbs of torque I don't think I'll notice it.

If you need a brand new Sanden, I have one from the kit that I'll make some one a great deal on.
