78-80 Side Molding??

When i bought my truck it had the factory black center, chrome outer 2.5" or so wide trim. I see this trim on many original trucks, as pictured in mine back in 97 when I got it. Where do I find it now? I want to put it back on, and all I find is 81-87 chrome molding. Any thoughts?

I'd like to know too! Been trying to find that for years. You can find something similar but not quite the same in a roll but as far as the pointed end on the front and finished end on the rear, I figured I was going to have to get creative with a razor knife and 3M molding tape....

Even back in the 80's that sort of body side molding was aftermarket. To my knowledge it was not factory. Each box came with two pointed ends and of course you can make your own pointed end with a pair of rose cutters.
