backspacing on 88-2000's rcsb

Hi, just wondering if anyone out there that has a bagged 88-2000 c-1500 knows if my backspacing is correct for some rims I just ordered.
I ordered 20 x 8.5" AR rims with 5 1/4" backspacing on a stock style front end that is bagged and laying rail? BTW, this is for the front end only, I have 20 x 10's in the back

Based on measurements I took off of a 15" van ralley when I 'reverse' calculated sizes for my 90 model, I came up w/20x8's using 5.50" bs for the front & 20 (or 22's) x10 w/6-6.25"bs for the rear.

Your listed size has an additional 1/2" of wheel width & 1/4" less back-spacing which on my truck would be scrubbing the front fender lip. My concern w/my numbers was what the inside of the wheel might rub as I don't have an easy way to check w/o purchasing a wheel/BS tool.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Thanks Scoti, I appreciate the help. While in another forumn about this same issue I found someone that was running a 20 x 8.5 wheel with 5 1/4" backspace and he said it would tuck up into the fender but....if he was having custom wheels made he would add at least 1/4", which I did. I am going with the 5.5" backspace and I think everything will be ok. Your story kinda backs it up and I appreciate it.

I am a little late to the party here, but I think you will be right where you need to be with the 5.5" BS. We would normally run a 5.25 on a static truck, and that extra .25" for bagged trucks running a similar suspension setup you have.

Sounds like a nice truck! I really like that body style.

How low of a static drop? I'm @ 5/7 & 8.5" wheels w/5.25" bs would be into the lip (that's why I recommended 8's w/5.5").

Usually on a 4/6 drop, but I tend to like wheels a little closer to the outer fender.

I don't like them 'lost' inside of a wheel-well but there needs to be a decent amount of clearance to avoid buzzing. At 4/6 drop, the 8.5" w/5.25" BS would prob be fine.

Kool, thanks guys. You input is greatly appreciated. Those are some awesome trucks, I especially like the light blue one since I am a Tarheel!
