Tailgate lettering
Did any trucks come with no lettering? I have one and don't know if it is after market or original.

Re: Tailgate lettering
I'm converting a '69 GMC over to a '68 Chevy. The original GMC gate I have is in awesome condition. No rust holes or warping. I wanted an O.E. Chevrolet gate but could not find one anywhere. I drove nearly 90 miles to look at one and although the rust wasn't too bad, the bow/dents in it was a deal breaker. I finally decided to cut the GMC section out and I'm going to replace it with the proper gauge sheet metal. I'm still holding out before I start welding it up hoping to find a relatively good Chevy gate so I can cut out the stamped "CHEVROLET" and make myself a great Chevy gate that will be O.E. If I can't find one I'll do the flat sheet metal and have a local decal shop cut the CHEVROLET letters and put those on it.

Re: Tailgate lettering
Don't break it just yet, there are plenty of good Chevy tail gates.
