Brake switch for S10 pedal assembly
I've got an S10 pedal assembly and brackety in my 54 truck. Hooking up my wiring I realized that I either lost or took off whatever was on it as a brake switch. Now I'm wondering (because Im not an S10 guy) is it a pedal actuated switch thats on it stock? What is the common way to integrate a switch of some sort to turn my brake lights on when I hit the pedal?

Re: Brake switch for S10 pedal assembly
You could either find an original brake switch for the pedal, which if I remember correctly is off the brake pedal arm or install a tee in the brake line and put in a fluid activated switch like the one below.

Re: Brake switch for S10 pedal assembly
I put a "T" and a pressure switch from Speedway and it works great.

Re: Brake switch for S10 pedal assembly
I used a universal Brake pedal switch. You can mount it several different ways. Worked for me.
You can find them on ebay for under $20. Thanks Marc

Re: Brake switch for S10 pedal assembly
Found an image for the S-10 brake light switch, not sure if it's the same year you are using but I'm fairly certain that it should be.... GM isn't so creative that they change things that work. it's about $10 at any local parts store

Thanks for the help fellas. Gives me some options to play with. I will probably just mount up the original if I didnt hack that brackety up too bad !
