Re: Project "Uncle John" 1969 Chevy c20

I have made my mind on the final outcome of the truck. Right now it is a 1969 Chevy C20 with a 396/400 combo. I am going to rebuild the motor and keep it. I will keep it as original as I can, but also have some custom things added. The truck will be my daily driver in high school. During high school, I will have a 350 in it until the rebuild. Then, when I have the money, i will get me a little car or truck to drive until the restore is done. THIS IS MY FINAL DECISION! I might change a few things along the way, but they will be subtle.

Re: Project "Uncle John" 1969 Chevy c20

Okay, I haven't posted in a while. BUT I HAVE A REASON! Back in April-May, My family moved from our 10 acre awesomeness to a town. With that happening, I haven't had much time to work on my truck (school, life, etc.). So that is why I haven't been on in a while. Since I last posted I have done some things to the truck. I got the original wheels and tires back on the truck. It was for looks that I had the newer wheels on (they are gone, now). I got the transmission to shift. The shift module was unhooked, so I got that fixed. After I gt that fixed, my dad and I drove the truck to my uncles house. Since April, the truck has sat there. Hopefully I can go there today and get pics. There ya go! -Bryce

Re: Project "Uncle John" 1969 Chevy c20

I have changed my mind yet again! This change is the final plan for my truck regarding the engine. When my dad did the vortec swap on Fred, he sold the 350 that was in it to Gerald (Driveway Dreams).Name: Fred Engine.JPG

Size: 74.3 KB All he did was put a new cam in it. NOW HERE IS THE GOOD PART! Gerald and my dad made a trade (I can't remember what they traded right now), and my dad and I have the engine back! Around April-May my dad, my uncle, my grandpa and I are going to get the truck to the point where it will start on the turn of a key (I hope!) and I can drive the truck when I turn 16!

Thumbs up Re: Project "Uncle John" 1969 Chevy c20

That's good to hear. The project will surely be waiting for you when the big thaw arrives!

Remember, there's nothing wrong with doing a project slowly, but surely!

Yep! Around April my dad and I are gonna get the engine and put it back together. Then during the summer I will get it driving and get plates on it so i can move it to my house.
