Frame bent? Or is this normal?

Sounds dumb that I just noticed this, but on the passenger side frame near the front I notice a big lip that doesn't exist on the driver side. See pictures below. Is this normal? Thanks all!

x2. It's for oil filter clearance with an inline six.

Like the others said. That's normal. Here's my 1965 C10 frame. Looks the same as yours.

Re: Frame bent? Or is this normal?

My frame (1965) is the same....plenty of room for the 1/2 quart spin on and just enough room for the longer 1qt spin on.

Re: Frame bent? Or is this normal?

It lines up with the oil filter for the L6 engines. The older style filters were longer I guess.

That does look good for the a/c compressor. Which mounts are you using?

its not that older filters were longer its you are using the smallest/shortest filter made there are at least three different sizes that fit

Think again... Not enough room on my 6.0 and not worth cutting on the frame.

Wisconsin.... A/C = 2 or 3 weeks of the year it is really even useful.
