Hi Chevyc10572!
GM made an add-on part that attached to your fuse box and buzzed if the truck was shut off and the headlights were left on. Here's one that I have posted on the Parts Board.

Now that's a deal you wont find anywhere but here on this forum! What a guy. I have one of those and it saves my butt all the time. I used to leave my lights on and drain the battery and get stranded. Now it feels like a brand new truck hahaha.

Re: Was there a key buzzer for the chevy trucks

No key buzzers came on these trucks because people back then used their noggins better. If you did forget, the consequences taught you to be sure to lake it a point to remember. When they started putting them in,most guys I knew disconnected them because it was just an annoyance. Afterall, who doesn't think about taking their key out when they park? That's why cars don't just have a push button to start. You want to be the only one who can start your vehicle. Plus,if you lock your doors you're screwed. Basically, you're not done driving until you put the key in your pocket. Now that such a devise has become a standard, people have become dependent on them, like many other things

Re: Was there a key buzzer for the chevy trucks

The key buzzer on our trucks is you cannot lock the doors without the key. Unless you leave your truck unlocked you cannot forget the key.
