saw the darndest thing...
Last weekend I was running my son out to see the trains at the HUGE railyard in Roseville California. While out there I saw this 69-70 orange Chevy truck "thing" that first looked like a Blazer, but low and behold it was an actual AMBULANCE. Of course it was not in service, but it looked all original...like it would have been nearly 30+ years ago.
It was VERY cool to see. I couldn't wave the driver down or I would have for a closer peek. I am sure such a thing is VERY rare. Probably more Elvis sightings! |

ambulance
I know a guy who had bought a Suburban ambulance from a small town fire rescue here in Colorado. It was a '70 with a big block, A/C, tilt, and tach. Very cool. It had a raised roof and all the lights. The side windows were sandblast etched with the cross and snake (medical symbol). Completely rust free tub. It was a 3/4 ton and had factory 15" 8 lug wheels. I know I'll never see that again! Unfortunately, he yanked the big block and parted the rest.
