Re: 67 K10 1 Owner Barn Find..... Yummy
Yes it is a factory 4x4.
Well went to Advance and got everything needed for an oil change and tune up. Motor was not froze up. Fired the motor. It actually ran. However it decided to puke white oil from the oil filter seal. Not good. While deciding which route to take I hopped on the web and found a replacement motor from a 67 Chevelle. The motor was only pulled due to a 383 swap. Going to get it today. Pending weather may have this fired up this weekend. |

Re: 67 K10 1 Owner Barn Find..... Yummy
Block probably froze and cracked. Hence the dry radiator AND water in oil. I guess it could have been run with bad head gasket and burned off the coolant. Oh well, who cares right?
I super dig that truck. Been wanting to put a make my '72 a Fenderside for quite some time. Maybe this year!

Re: 67 K10 1 Owner Barn Find..... Yummy
Nice, I'm looking at a 67 k10 also...
But As far as water in the oil/possible head gasket, Your Owner did say it had been sitting for 15+ yrs, so its natural for condensation or water to get in the motor, esp if there wasn't an air cleaner or carb etc. (?) I'd change the oil/flush it a few more times before I tore it apart, if you have some GOOD used motor oil around, its perfect for quick flush/fill oil changes so you're not out any money for oil, just oil filters of course. |
