Longhorn progress
Finally got the longhorn box primered today and will start with the white center band tomorrow. I have noticed that some people paint the box the body color totally and then paint over that with the white center band . what are the preferences of those on the board and your reasons. I guess I paint the center band white so if I get a chip it won't be the other color under. This is my second time on painting the box(white band) as the first time I rushed it I guess and the paint started cracking in a few spots. I had to sandblast off the center band and start over. Man that s^&*s.
Hope for a smooth paint day tomorrow!

The main I would paint the white first it that you always want to paint from light to dark. It's eaiser to cover a light color with dark than to cover a dark color with light...

I guess I didn't word it right but I always tape off for the white so I don't have to sand white overspray to do the copper color.
Whites on and so far so good. Now I'll have to wait a few days so I can paint the copper color. I hate waiting but I can't afford bc/cc so I just use the old faithfull Acrylic enamel. Cost a lot less but someday I would love to try BC/CC. I have to have patience as I love taking off the masking and seeing progress. Oh well maybe by tonight!

Got the masking off tonight . sorry kinda dark . Paint seems fine,no runs or anything so far. Gotta wait for it to harden good a couple days before I can mask off white for copper color.
