Brothers trucks 86 c10 dash pad

So I recently purchased a black vinyl dash pad from brothers trucks website and went to put it in and noticed that there is excess dash material on the sides of the dash. I trimmed just a little and it started to fit better, but stopped at the moment until I can get better feedback on if you guys had the same problem when putting in a new dash. Also, I already threw away my old dash and having nothing to go off of for example for trimming. Would anyone have a pic of the sides of there dash?

I found that putting a dash cap looks good and requires less trimming

I had (and just ordered actually) an OER dash. Same issues, just had to slowly trim the sides until it would go into place. I really liked it though, it looked nice and will never crack.

The black dash is from my 86 k10. The buckskin dash is an extra one I have from a 77 k5 blazer.

Re: Brothers trucks 86 c10 dash pad

Thanks for the pics! Looks like the sides are trimmed down very short. Its funny if you go to classic trucks website where they did a interior update and you can see on the drivers side where they left the excess and just left it on there. Doesnt look nice.
