Check this design program out!
One of my car friends suggested I try this design program out. It lets you change the color, stance, wheels, design graphics, chop tops etc. I played around with it a little last night and it's really easy to use. The whole program is 500 bucks... but you can buy just one car "like I did for my 64" and it allows you to do everything to just one model of car/truck. To use only one car model I believe it was about $95 bucks after taxes etc.
Here's a couple trucks I designed last night. Since it uses House of Kolor paints it has a limited number of colors "still about 350+" but I think you can add layers of candy paint to tint them to whatever you want but I'm not 100% sure on that because I didn't get a chance to try it out very much last night. If anyone doesn't want to buy the program like I did then PM and I will whip up something for you. You can also design graphics and everything with this. Check out the website, it explains it much better than I can. www.hokdigitalpaintbooth.com Here are the trucks I did, the brown I want is lighter than this but I did both of these in about 20 mins and I had never used this program before last night. Tonight I'm going to try and design some scallops and change up the colors a bit. |

Re: Check this design program out!
No problem! This type of stuff interests me a lot. Plus using this would save a lot of time and money so you don't have to try colors out that you don't like. I went home for lunch and played around for a minute. I like these colors a lot more than the others. I think I might actually paint my truck just like this!
They are planning on adding a lot more cars/trucks and more options in the future. I can't believe how real this looks, pretty amazing! |

Re: Check this design program out!
For me, I think what I like about no paint striping, or scallops, is; I think the natural curves for these trucks are perfect, and I don't want anything to detract from that. That's just me. But either way, I really like your color choices.

Re: Check this design program out!
I don't believe so but they are still developing this, maybe they will add that. There is so much they could do with this.
The possibilities of how far they could go are almost endless but I would imagine they want to keep it simple. I think that's why a lot of people don't use photoshop etc, it's just so complicated unless you spend a lot of time using it, it's more of a hassle than anything else. They also have a pinstriping tool that I was playing with last night to outline the scallops. It works pretty well but because it only zooms in a little, it's kind of tricky to get the lines to follow the graphics. It still gives you an idea of what the colors look like together. I hope they add more wheel styles and allow the option to change mirrors. I'm still having fun playing with it though. |

Re: Check this design program out!
Thanks zippeay, I have a 66 stepside that I am working on, that is why I was looking for that option, but is a great tool to see the final product, with different colors.

Now that's a cool software! I hope they will expand the available cars soon, since I'd say it'll be popular among various car enthusiasts.
