re-intall cab trim?
Can anyone give me a sense of how to re-install this piece of trim using the existing clips? I took the back cab trim off to take out some dents but can't seem to get it to slide back on. I don't want to scratch the truck doing something stupid.
The existing clips are loose and want to spin and I'm not sure if they are supposed to be tight to the body. I know that many of you suggest switching to adhesive clips and I may end up doing that as a fair bit of the trim needs repair. Anyway, any help would be appreciated.

You need to unscrew the clips from the back side of the cab. Slide them on the trim. Re-install. Tighten the mounting nuts up snug and you are good to go. Adhesive style clips were not used in that area.

Well, certainly not a job for a guy with big hands. I took the seat belt out and that gave some room (still have the gas tank in the cab), dropped the nut several times and had to fish it out with a magnet but in the end I got it back on.

You can take off the plastic vent piece off the pillar, makes it simple to reach

The pillar removal is a great idea if you have a71/72. I had to pull the gas tank towards the passenger side to get my mitts in there.

One good thing about pulling the seatbelts is that I now have no excuse not to repair the retractors in them. I do like pulling the pillar vent though, that's a great idea.
