AD Door Panels ?
I am still in the planning/options stage of putting our '51 back together, I could sure use some new ideas, the replacing of the stock style cardboard door panels isn't happening. I did a search but it mostly came back on headliners, some very good ones .

Re: AD Door Panels ?
What exactly are you asking? You can't find door panels?

Re: AD Door Panels ?
Here is the LMC catalog page for door panels. I highly recommend them too, they have great customer service. http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/ca/full.aspx?Page=71

Re: AD Door Panels ?
Oh I can find replacement cardboard or fibreboard door panels, but I am hoping for some ideas other than stock - not being an upholsterer I thought the craftsmen on the list would show some ideas I could learn from. I have those that came on the truck, metal trimmed, I can use as patterns. Just not a fan of cardboard....thanks

Old man 3;
How that is a great looking door panel. I'm also looking for ideals on the door panels. Thinking about going with power windows n power door locks. Think of changing over to new style door handles also. just so ideals to post, Tim |

Re: AD Door Panels ?
I'm planning on doing part of my doors with fabric and foam covering masonite. It's certainly stronger and more durable than cardboard, and is a little flexible too.
I suppose you could use some UHMW sheets too. |

Re: AD Door Panels ?
Rod shop used to make some similar to what Mobileortho showed but they are out of business now.
I've had a masonite like material covered with thin foam and covered with tan vinyl for years but will let the trim shop guy have at it next time. That factory style cardboard stuff isn't all that bad as it has held up for 60+ years in a lot of trucks. They do have a similar backing board at upholstery shops and supply houses too.

Re: AD Door Panels ?
There are some good ideas shown. I took a piece of Masonite and cut it to fit and sprayed it with some texture paint. They look fine but I'm not sure I will keep them. The surface is, of course, rough. It is not as bad as sand paper but you don't want to rub your knuckles across it very much.

Here is mine that I made out of different thicknesses of OSB, 1/4 & 1/2 foam, carpet and vinyl.
