I like this set up. I could build something like that if I had plenty of money, and tools.

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Nothing special about it...it's just a glorified 2-link setup. Which isn't the best setup anyway. it's not too hard to make a setup like that for a leaf spring truck in the first place.

Nothing "glorified" about that. It's real nice. I wonder about bag placement on it. That seems like alot of leverage. It would cut down the load capacity of the truck. I want to be able to pull a good sized trailer.

No way. I'd bet money that those outside bars are solidly mounted to the axle making it a glorified 2 link.

Either way it's a ridiculous setup. there are much beter cantilever style setups to be had.

I didn't mean that it was the best out there, just saw it and thought it was nice set up. If you do reseach on baggs they tell you the front mount is for looks and the further back you place your baggs are for load, so which do you think he was going for. I would say look.

Actually his setup is about lift. Looks and load have little to do with it. In that setup he could probably get 10" of lift out of the rear of his truck.

So....you are able to find the problem. What's the fix? If your going to call something ridiculous, the least you could do is tell how to make it right and why is it so bad.

Definately....

4-link. If the rear lower mounts were solidly mounted, the upper links would be useless not to mention it would put the suspension in a bind. Used this setup on two customers trucks before. Plenty of lift and comfortable ride. Looks good to me. Later, FuelCellGuy

I agree with FuelCellGuy. It is a 4 link. If the lower bars didn't pivot at the axle tubes, the suspension wouldn't travel much from where you see it. Also it does look like he would get tons of lift with where the bags are mounted. Later

If you look at the picture closely you would see that the axle tube is solid mounted on the bottom to the ladder bar, and the action comes from the ladder bars on the front side. Look how he cut the frame at a angle for the axle to come down at a angle. The whole reason of this is for looks. You get more lift yes, but look is what he is after, when he air's out his bagg's. LOOKS

And why is it a ridiculous setup? I think it is one of the best I've seen myself. Anyone knows that the further out your mounts are the better ride you will get. In other words you want have as much side to side motion, because you moved your axis of center out on the outside of the frame. I think this guy knew what he was doing when he came up with this idea.

I really didn't mean to start a slam on this guy's set up, I just thought it was a nice picture of a guy's truck that had spent some time and money on his set up. That's all.

Looks great to me. If you go check out the pics on cardomain you can see it hits sides well an has a ton of lift. I wonder what it looks like behind the tire. I'd like to see a pic of the joints.

I don't agree with you. The lower bars can not be mounted solidly to the axle tubes. They have to have a pivot here to move at all. It's basic engineering linkage design.

It's a 4 link with a pivot at the end of each bar(including the axle tube).

If it didn't have a pivot there the suspension would be a triangulated truss(that's from engineering STATICS class, meaning things that don't move). Statics explains how bridges are made. It would be very stong and not move an inch. I could draw a picture if you would like.
