steering column prod
85 c10 .. my truck won't start if the steering wheel is tilted down. . What gives. .. one guy at the parts yard said there is a rod that has to be adjusted. ..

Yea if u look at the left ( door side) of the column there should be two 4/5 wire plugs going into your ignition switch. U can google your year and what it looks like so u have a better idea. So the rod is on top of that, it's hard to get too. That's all I'm good for I've never had this happen, good luck.

The switch that the rod goes to can be moved up or down the column. Loosen the two small screws and move it as needed.

Thanks guys. ... ill look in to it. .. if I have to remove the steering wheel I'm just going to get a caprice steering column because it has a old after market steering wheel on it now. ..

I have removed the column and replaced it with a1984 caprice... I had to do so fab but I got everything to work. Now my problem is that the wheel is not straight... So what is the best way to resolve this?..
