Truck wont start
Whats up people, I have a 1970 chevy c10 that wont start. It was working great until yesterday I tried removing some after market gauges from it and oil leaked every where. Now my ignition wont crank. I know it has to do with the ignition or wires running to the battery. Any ideas? Anyone been through this? Sucks not being to run my truck

We will need more info. Does it turn over but not fire up or does it not crank at all? The aftermarket oil gauges you removed probably had an oil line from the engine to the gauge, you will need to put a sending unit or something in the hole in the engine or it will puke oil everywhere.

Did you remove an ammeter? Possibly opening the ignition circuit? I can't see how removing the gauges could prevent it from starting other than that. If you did remove an ammeter clip those wires together and turn the key.

My son did that. Called me and told me that his truck wouldn't start. When I got home and sat in the truck I noticed it was still in reverse. Put in park and it started right up. Lol.

Truck wasnt in gear. It's not cranking when the key is turned.

my son had this happen also. it was his neutral safety switch. pull(think its the purple wires at the base of the column) it and jump it with a piece of wire to see if that is it. also had this happen to me with my 70 nova

Did you unhook the battery before you pulled the gauge? I hate to be obvious.

SStaten69 The wire thing works to turn it on. But that doesnt fix my ignition problem.

Check the fusible link mounted on the passenger side inner fender next to the battery.
