Re: Year correct low # tags ?

I put period correct tags on all of my classics and antiques. Its legal here too. I think here in Georgia the plates were yearly until the mid 70's??

I have a 31, 41 x 2, 47, 48, 49, 50, 52, 66 and all multiples of the 67-72's

Re: Year correct low # tags ?

I'm running a 72 Texas tag here in Texas. Check with your local DMV.

Re: Year correct low # tags ?

Last year for GA was 1970, all stickers from there so my 72 isn't eligible. My blue 65 impala has vintage tags on in which happen to be blue and white. About the easiest thing I've done at a DMV!

Re: Year correct low # tags ?

And I thought mine were low numbered. Call the DMV and have them check the #. I can't see anybody running that # Plate.
I can't find any finished pic but here's one when I was restoring them.

mmiddle, You might have a problem running those plates unless you have a farm. The stopped letting guys run antique farm plate a few years ago. I've got 3 sets in sequential order that I can't use.

I hate to rain on your parade, but you are going to have trouble using the vintage tags in texas with "farm truck" on them. The state recently changed the rules regarding this. I sold a 71 Gmc with them and they wouldnt let the new owner register the truck with them. I did some checking and it looks like i wont be using the never issued 1955 farm truck tags that i paid $75 for 15 yrs ago on my big window after all! (Other than wall art!)

Re: Year correct low # tags ?

I had to settle for "Texas Truck" for the 72.

Re: Year correct low # tags ?

I'm going to try it... I do have a farm, well lease my land to family for cattle. But I do have the tax exemptions. If not... I only paid $15 for them and they will make great wall art

Re: Year correct low # tags ?

Yep, they are legal here as well. That's the first thing I get when I get another antique or classic.

Re: Year correct low # tags ?

Here in Indiana they make you pay the extra for antique plate but if you bring in, as they call it (a year of origin plate) they will register it. You can run with the old plate but must keep the Indiana antique plate in the vehicle.
