I was thinking the same thing but didn't want to scare the new guy off. I am not a fan of the '60-'62 frames at all. That X-member always seems to be in the way. I would even consider a '67-'72 frame and make the few modifications necessary to use it under a '60-'66. And as I always say when switching a frame, make sure you are following the laws in your state regarding switching a frame under a truck.

I would seriously consider finding a '63-'66 frame, preferably a SWB. The X-frame feature on the early chassis will prove to be a major hassle when you shorten the frame. Plus, the x-frame tends to get in the way of everything you want to do when you're going custom like you're doing.
