Hi Jim, the real deal "no monkey business" OE factory truck tilts are right at 36 1/2" long overall lower shaft end to upper shaft end, keep in mind that alot of the tilts found out there today are really modified/shortened van tilts and the overall lengths on these can vary a bit depending on who and how it was shortened. The original OE factory length on the more commonly found keyless van tilts that are used in alot of these trucks is right at 39" long overall. Mel
