my wheels need your help
on my front wheels i have brake dust that feels like it is embedded in the aluminum, I have tried a green scrub pad with wheel cleaner/purple power/nano polish/degreaser and many other products, i still can not get them to fully clean up
Any thoughts or idea? should i take a SOS pad to them i dont want to jack up the surface, but they do feel rough around the brake dust.

Re: my wheels need your help
You can try oven cleaner that might work or you can wet sand in steps 400,600,1000,1500,2000 grit sand paper then mothers polish and they will look brand new but the process is long and boring

Re: my wheels need your help
They look like an ultra type 164, I had a set in high school. Give them an acid bad, sand, sand, sand, and polish. They will only look so good since there cast. Other option is there only about $100/each

Re: my wheels need your help
Brake dust is very corrosive. That is why its important to keep alloy wheels clean and coated. At this point they are going to need to be cleaned to at least a machine surface.

Re: my wheels need your help
Sand, sand, sand, sand, and wet sand progressively finer grits and then mothers on a powerball and they will SHINE! Way cheaper than new wheels, all it cost you is time and beer while sanding!

Re: my wheels need your help
Stop by your local truck stop where they polish the big rig Alcoas. No problem for them to make them look like mirrors. Should be relatively cheap compared to the manual labor involved
