243/799

I have a set of heads one is a 243 the other is 799. They supposedly were off the same engine. I dont know the mileage. 400 $ + shipping or local pick up. Firm. I got them to put on my lq4 but if I do that I will have Texas speed do a full stage 2 job. That said I'm not in a hurry to move them but I also don't see having the money to do that for awhile. So If your interested shoot me a pm if not ill sit on them. They are complete less rockers , price is firm thanks rob, would consider trades, I could use a 4l80e stall.

Re: 243/799 (reduced) 300

ok so I did have texas speed check them out. the 799 has some surface blemishes and they said they would need milled .020-.025 to clean up. its a 100$ for that so I will reduce the price to 300+shipping or local pickup.

Re: 243/799

799's with core are $350 at LKQ, RTR. I will do $200 shipped for both heads to make this a worthwhile transaction.

Re: 243/799

Um I'm trying to sell them not give them away! I don't think you could even by a set of ls heads out of a junk yard for that price. Let alone ls6 style heads. The price I have is about as fair as it gets, look them up on eBay or anywhere else. I doubt they even need a valve job . Probably just disassemble and clean and do the mill. But in my opinion if your gonna do a head swap why not freshin them up or better yet get a full port job with larger stainless valves. Listen I'm not hard up for money by any means. I just don't see me doing anything with them for awhile. But I dont have a problem sitting on them caus they will always be sought after. Thanks rob

The only set really sought after are the Z06 version with sodium filled valves.

The set you have is pretty common, just FYI.

Yes they are common but everybody seems to want a set. I bet ai, texas speed and all the other head shops do 95 % of their business on the ones with sodium valves hu. I mean dont that make a lot of since to do a full Cnc port job and stick with stock valve sizes. When you can drop in light weight stainless valves. Larger and swirl polished, with a good ol 5 angle valve job. Yall go low ball someone who doesn't know anything about hot rods or " ls engines" FYI I know exactly what I have, and what they are worth and when yall find them at that below junk price let me know ill pick up a few more sets!

I'm not interested in them, just letting you know why you might not be getting any bites. You can find low mileage sets that don't need any work on ls1tech for $400-$500 all day...

Ok so tell me if my math is off 300 + 50 shipping + 150 to clean and mill. =500= brand new surface and more compression=more power! Or take a chance on some low mile ones that may not even be low mile or any better. I don't think I'm unfair on my price. He wants the heads for 150. Um no! I admit some just want some stock heads ready to run to throw on. But most people looking for HP and are willing to get new head bolts, gaskets, and tear down the whole top end are wise enough to at the very least freshin up the heads to save doing it all over. Some like me would even say if im gonna go through the trouble of the swap I may as well do a full port and get 50ish whp out of the deal. But thats just my .02

yea... ok

$350-$400 is the going rate for a pair of takeoff 799/243's. Shipping is the killer, but list them on CL and you'll get them sold quick enough. People are finally realizing they're good for boosted 5.3's so you can keep some low end grunt.

Yep, that's what I was getting at. They were on just about everything for a while so they aren't exactly hard to find.

They are the same, just casted by different venders. Some trucks did come with a mismatched set.
