Re: New to me.. but Im not new to restoring.

well, thought I would give an update on my truck.

I decided not to use the rims above that I bought. They just didnt look goof on the truck. They are to new for the style.

The new cooling system and fan are working great. With a 160 degree thermostat the truck is luck if the needle moves off the cold mark while in the city.. On the highway i manage to get it just a needles with off cold. lol.. So no problems staying cool.

I was having issues with the column shift. It decided to lock up on four times in two days.. Once while getting on the highway.. So I decided it needed to go.

I went and bought a new Hurst shifter for the truck today.. Seeing the PO had put in a patch in the floor to cover were the owner before him had a floor shifter. So it just un screwed and was in the perfect place.

After some adjustment and a little testing it is running with its new shifter. Tomorrow will be install floor plate clean up the install and re-install the speedo cable. Then some more adjustment.

Plus Ive got to take out all the column shift linkage and store it. Those bars are almost impossible to find anymore.
